Welcome to Madrid
Primitivo Palomeque established his first tailor shop in 1892 in Toledo street, but it was in 1901 that he settled on Calle Duque de Alba. It is one of the few century-old shops devoted to the tailoring sector that has survived to the present day, although its main business area now focuses on uniforms and work clothes.
Primitivo’s sons, Isidoro and Primitivo, continued his work and began the process of establishing commercial sales in the 1930s. During the 1940s and 1950s they expanded their prospects further by adding wholesale operations.
In the 1970s, Luis and Mariano, grandsons of the founder and apprentices in the shop since the age of sixteen, continued to expand the company’s range of operations, this time by adding uniforms to their offerings and by developing a women’s section. Currently, Sara, Luis and Mariano, fourth-generation members of the founding family, continue to carry on Palomeque’s work.
Today’s store has a surface area of 800 m2, of which 500 m2 are devoted to the shop and the rest is devoted to tailoring, a mending workshop, additional storerooms and offices.
