La Paz Market
Information
Inaugurated in 1882, one of its distinguishing features is that it was built using iron. It is one of the most popular local markets and a landmark in the city.
Its interior perfectly combines the classical iron structure of the old community markets and the modern design of its establishments, resulting in an attractive and welcoming space in which you can find daily fresh produce. Indeed, some of its stalls serve important restaurants in Madrid and also export their goods.
As well as its wide range of fresh food, its approximately 60 establishments offer an excellent sample of small businesses and services for the home.
The market has free Wi-Fi, a defibrillator, adapted public toilets, on-line shopping via the website Mercado47.com and is the only market in the world that sells its products (fresh and dried produce) via the Amazon Prime Now application, which has earned it different awards and national and international recognition.
