Welcome to Madrid

In 1887, Pablo Arteaga and his partner devoted to religious items sales in a shop called Casa Arteaga. When he dies in 1924, his partner the priest changed the name to Casa Clero. Due to obvious reasons, during the Civil War it was closed and became a communist party propaganda office.

The priest Maximiliano was executed and when the conflict was over, his old clerks took care of Santarrufina. The Molina Salazar family owns this emblematic business in Madrid.

Its original facade remains in excellent conditions especially the showcase’s decoration made by Matías Melchor who was the decorator of the banners and scrolls of the house. They sell all sort of religious items, silver or gold objects, ornaments, fabrics...and still produce liturgical organs following the same elaboration processes of the XVII century.
