Welcome to Madrid

Yves Saint Laurent is one of the classics par excellence of haute couture of all times, creator of prêt à porter and also responsible for introducing both the pant suit and the tuxedo in women’s wardrobes in the 1960’s. His boutique in Madrid couldn’t be anywhere but the Golden Mile, right on calle Serrano, surrounded by other great houses like Carolina Herrera, Loewe or Giorgio Armani.

Beyond its elegant doors one finds the men’s and women’s collections by this genius who, despite having retired from the world of fashion himself in 2002, passed on the creative baton to Milan-born designer Stefano Pilati, who has successfully maintained the exquisite, bold and elegant essence of the French master.

The YSL universe goes from haute couture to menswear, furs, jewellery, perfumes, cosmetics, and all sorts of accessories. His savoir-faire and eagerness to innovate –he was also responsible for setting a trend with the famous safari jackets- has earned him the major international fashion awards and the rank of Commander of the Légion d'Honneur by French president at the time François Mitterrand, in 1985.
