Welcome to Madrid

Built between 1954 and 1960, this tower, located in the Plaza de España, was for some years the tallest concrete skyscraper in the world. Today it is one of the most emblematic buildings in the city centre. 

The Torre de Madrid was designed by brothers Julián and José María Otamendi, who also created the Edificio España. It is 142 metres tall and has 32 storeys.

Following major internal and external refurbishment in 2012, the central and upper parts of the Torre de Madrid (10th to 32nd floor) are now fully residential.  The first nine floors house the hotel Barceló Torre de Madrid, which opened in 2017.
