La Casa Encendida
Information
La Casa Encendida is a social and cultural centre run by Montemadrid Foundation, an open and dynamic space for all, in which some of the most avant-garde artistic expressions are combined with educational activities, reflection and debate, revolving around four areas: Culture, Solidarity, Environment and Education. Each of them develops diverse activities in response to the interests and demands of a public that is committed to and interested in current affairs.
The centre has a library, children’s library, mediateca and computer room, as well as a cafeteria and charity eco-shop. La Terraza at La Casa Encendida is an extraordinary place that houses a wide variety of vegetables and offers views of some of the best sunsets of the city. The Terraza café-bar is open all year round, serving exquisite breakfasts, brunches and an extensive list of wines, cocktails and beers.
It is located in a Neo-Mudéjar-style monumental building, designed by architect Fernando Arbós and opened in 1913.
