Church of the Divina Pastora School

    Information

This church, located in the Chamberí district, was built by the architect José Urioste Velada in1903. The most interesting thing about it is the Neo-Gothic interior (the only original element retained in the school), which was reformed in successive renovation work almost from the moment it was built.

The church has a Latin-cross layout with a single nave, two scarcely developed smaller arms and a raised choir loft at the entrance to the temple, in the first two sections of the central nave, which houses a 1954 organ.  The main alter, the transept and the central nave all have diverse images, which are not the originals, as they disappeared during the Civil War.
