Welcome to Madrid
This building situated in the Chamberí neighbourhood, dating back to 1875, was built by architect Antonio Ruiz de Salces. It was later extended by Manuel Martínez Oyuelos in 1927 and finally refurbished by Carlos Zarzo Hamma in 1983. The residence was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1996.
This symmetrical U-shaped building is made up of three naves in addition to a chapel. It has Gothic details, such as the church tower, although it has an austere and functional character, with exposed brick facades lacking in any ornamentation.
It is currently a nursing home with 90 places for people of limited economic resources.
