This building was designed by the architect Pedro Hernández in 1725 as a residence for the nuns from the Santísimo Sacramento Convent, which was on the same block in the Hapsburg district at that time.

In 1830, the Uceda family sold the building to the Lezcano family, and it was passed down from generation to generation until, in 1936, Aurora Lezcano married Darío Varcárcel, Marquis of O’Reilly, of Irish origins, and the building took on its current name.

At the beginning of the 1980s, it was acquired by the Council and the architect Joaquín Roldán Pascual carried out an extensive reform on it, completely emptying its inside with the aim of using it for municipal offices. Of the old building, only the main façade remains.
