Welcome to Madrid

Marquina theater, with a capacity for 500 spectators, is situated at the Justicia neighborhood, in the heart of the city. It was built on a plot left to the Montepío de Autores (Author’s Association) by the playwright Eduardo Marquina giving it its name.

It was inaugurated on 21 of December 1962. It closed its doors in 1982, but it opened again two years later. In 1996 Alejandro Colubi tore the Marquina theater down to rebuild it using the latest technology. It was inaugurated again on 17 of March 1998 with Núria Espert starring in Master Class.
