Welcome to Madrid
Real Madrid is one of our city’s three professional football teams, together with Atlético de Madrid and Rayo Vallecano. Holder of multiple European and international titles, the club opens its doors 363 days a year for football and sports fans to explore its historic stadium, an absolute must on your trip to Madrid.
The Santiago Bernabeu (named after the legendary Madrid manager, who presided over the club from 1943 to 1978) was inaugurated in 1947 and can now hold over 80,000 spectators. The stadium also has 245 VIP boxes.
Bernabéu Tour
On 1 July, the Bernabéu Tour will reopen its doors. This will continue to be a restricted version of the tour due to the remodelling work being carried out. Visitors will be able to see the Museum, the Model of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in the 21st Century, the panoramic stadium viewing point, and the Official Shop. The new entrance will be by Gate 55, accessed via Calle Padre Damián.
Due to the various events that take place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, as well as the remodelling work, the Bernabéu Tour may vary its route and times, informing visitors on the website, at the ticket offices, and at the entrance door to the Tour.
From Thursday 1st December, the entrance to Tour Bernabéu will be found on Calle del Padre Damián.
Provisionally, access for people with reduced mobility will be temporarily unavailable. The official webpage will make an announcement when this reopens.

The Bernabéu Tour allows you to access one of the world’s most emblematic sports venues, so you can learn more about the magnificent history of the world’s most successful club, and experience first-hand the historical transformation of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
The interactive screens dotted throughout the Santiago Bernabéu Museum look back at the most emblematic moments of the greatest club of the 20th century.
The tour includes access to an incredible panoramic view of the stadium and the Real Madrid CF Museum, where you can relive glorious nights through priceless objects, including their 14 Champions League titles. A must see!
Redevelopment of the Bernabéu: a stadium fit for the 22nd century
The New Santiago Bernabéu project, headed by the GMP-L35-Ribas group of architects, includes the construction of a large cornice at the main entrance. It will fly over the adjacent square without any ground support, forming a large 2,000m2 entrance leading the way to the new Bernabéu.
Among other features of the redevelopment of the stadium (which is expected to finish in late 2023) is the construction of a new stand on the east side, which will be slightly higher than the current one, although the stadium’s capacity is expected to remain at about 80,000 people. The venue will also gain a retractable roof which will allow for the pitch to be used regardless of the weather and will help to reduce noise pollution.
