Welcome to Madrid

This theater has been the home theater of the Spanish National Television Orchestra since 1988. Its stage has welcomed numerous theater companies, reviews, shows and concerts. Theater’s structure and materials give the space an excellent acoustic quality.

Previously known as Monumental Cinema, it used to be a movie theater that also featured theater shows. It was designed and built between 1922 and 1923 by the architect Teodoro Anasagasti using reinforced concrete for the first time (until then it was only used in civil engineering) and it is one of the first examples of Madrid’s rationalism.
