Welcome to Madrid
On 1 May, the Teatro Real will host a concert devoted to the best soundtracks from action films. The Royal Film Concert Orchestra under the orders of Fernando Furones will perform the best works by John Williams, along with film music by other composers.
The Royal Film Concert Orchestra (RFCO) is an ensemble made up of professionals who form part of the most prestigious European orchestras and schools. They are musicians who not only focus on classical repertoires but also perform other styles. The orchestra, which is made up of more than 90 professors, is part of the Excelentia Foundation and offers film soundtrack concerts on major European stages.
The American composer and pianist John Williams, to whom this concert pays tribute, enjoys a long and successful career spanning six decades. He is one of the most prolific composers in film soundtracks, having composed the music for films like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws, Jurassic Park or Schindler’s List. He boasts five Oscars, apart from a further 52 nominations, four Golden Globes, seven BAFTA Awards and 23 Grammy Awards.
