The Prado Museum opens its doors at night on the first Saturday of each month with a programme featuring different exhibition spaces that aims to progressively raise the profile of the institution. It will also include different musical initiatives and the chance to discover some of the multimedia experiences created by Samsung in collaboration with the Museum over ten years.

This programme offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience, showcasing some of the interactive experiences developed by Samsung in partnership with the institution over the years, such as: Guide to the Prado, S Pen Academy, History of the Prado Museum and its buildings, and Rome in your Pocket. In addition, members of the visiting public can enjoy a selection of works from the Museum especially edited for the Samsung Art Shop The Frame. The cafeteria service is also open in different spaces.

On 4 March, the Central Gallery will become home to a brand-new experience, with an exploration of European painting, from Titian to Velázquez and from Rubens to Goya. This exhibition will feature many interesting artistic encounters, such as Adam and Eve by Titian displayed alongside Rubens’ version of the same subject, and a comparison between two extraordinary paintings of Venus and Adonis: one by Paolo Veronese, from around 1580, and the other by Annibale Carracci, painted just ten years later.

One of the most powerful visions can be found in the central section of the Gallery, where visitors can compare the perspectives offered by three of the most important portraits in the history of painting: Equestrian Portrait of Charles V, by Titian, Las Meninas by Velázquez, and Charles IV of Spain and His Family by Goya.

Radio 3 is also involved in this initiative, livestreaming a special programme dedicated to the Prado from the lobby of Jerónimos, involving journalists and DJs from the station, highlighting the uniqueness of the proposal.
