The American rock band is giving a one-off concert in Madrid on 4 October at the WiZink Center to present its latest album, First Two Pages of Frankenstein. This album will be released in April 2023 and includes collaborations with Phoebe Bridgers, Taylor Swift and Sufjan Stevens. In this concert, the American musician Bartees Strange will be the invited artist.
The National is an American rock band that got together in 1999 in Brooklyn, New York, made up of musicians from Cincinnati, natives of Ohio. The group is made up of Matt Berninger, twins Aaron Dessner and Bryce Dessner, as well as brothers Scott Devendorf and Bryan Devendorf.
The group released its debut album of the same name in 2001, The National, under the independent record label, Brassland Records, founded by band members Aaron and Bryce Dessner. Two years later, the follow-up album, Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers (2003), was released.
In 2005, they released their third album, Alligator, signing up with Beggars Banquet Records, receiving good reviews from the critics. This album was followed by Boxer (2007) and High Violet (2010) and in 2013, they released their sixth album, Trouble Will Find Me, which was nominated for a Grammy. In 2017, the band presented Sleep Well Beast, an album that was awarded a Grammy. Their eighth studio album, I Am Easy to Find, was released in 2019 and 2023 will be the turn of First Two Pages of Frankenstein.
For more than two decades, The National has created songs based on pain and suffering, reflecting their belief in the capacity of music to contain relevance. Throughout their career, they have headed the line-up at festivals worldwide and collaborated with numerous artists in different fields.
