The Icelandic artist is coming to Spain for a one-off concert on 4 September at the WiZink Center as part of her latest tour, Cornucopia, an innovative sound and image show. Created from Björk’s latest album, Utopia, Cornucopia was premièred as a resident show at The Shed in New York, receiving great reviews.
Björk Guðmundsdóttir, better known as Björk, is an Icelandic singer, multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer who is renowned worldwide for her experimental, bizarre and avant-garde music. Her musical proposal has earned her international recognition from the critics and public alike.
Throughout her career, which began in 1977, more than 40 of her singles have reached the Top 30 in the charts around the world. She has also had 22 Top-20 hits in the United Kingdom, including some of her greatest hits, such as It's Oh So Quiet, Hyper-ballad and Army of Me.
Björk had sold more than 40 million albums by 2011, when she was named the best alternative singer, having sold the most albums at that time. In the same year, she was included on the list of 100 most influential artists of the century and Rolling Stone named her as one of the most influential singers and songwriters of today. She has also been nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the Best Original Song for I've Seen It All, which featured in the film, Dancer in the Dark (2000). Several of her albums have reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, the most recent one being Fossora, released in 2022.
Now, the artist is back with her latest show, Cornucopia, in which she brings back the original staging of her catalogue music, redesigned to include music from her current album, Fossora, which has been nominated for the Grammy Awards.
