Cervecería Alemana

    Information

Founded in 1904 by a group of German industrialists for the exclusive consumption of beer, today it is an almost obligatory stop if you pass by the Plaza de Santa Ana, in the Barrio de las Letras. With a decoration that has remained practically unchanged since its inauguration (only its Prussian fireplace and the large Bavarian mirror that adorned its walls have disappeared), it is one of the city's classic establishments, recognised in 1980 by the Madrid Chamber of Commerce as a Traditional Madrid Establishment.

Like many other classic taverns in Madrid, it has been visited by illustrious figures from the world of culture such as Valle Inclán, Jardiel Poncela, Los Paso, or Víctor de la Serna, people from the theatre such as María Guerrero, Rivelles, actresses such as Ava Gardner, the Nobel Prize winner Ernest Hemingway, and especially from the world of bullfighting.
