Welcome to Madrid
(LA)HORDE is offering a programme composed for the Ballet National de Marseille by four choreographers: Lucinda Childs, Tânia Carvalho, Lasseindra Ninja and Oona Doherty, on 30 and 31 March at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre.
Each of these choreographers has created a production that addresses various dance concepts. With Lazarus, Oona Doherty reveals a realist, urban dance with a nod to the suburbs of Belfast (United Kingdom). With Mood, Lasseindra Ninja shows off the power of voguing dance.
Lucinda Childs performs Tempo Vicino, a production that was designed for the Ballet National de Marseille in 2009 through a minimalist 1970s speech. This is followed by Tânia Carvalho with One of Four Periods in Time, a show with joint dance performances in which intuition plays a key role. Through these multiple and different generational expressions, (LA)HORDE exposes a horizon of open dances.
(LA)HORDE is a company founded in 2013 by Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer and Arthur Harel, who question today’s artistic codes, especially those of contemporary live art and performing arts through shows that range from raves to traditional dances and jumpstyle. It has been at the helm of the Ballet National de Marseille since 2019, having produced choreographic works, films, video installations and performances.
