The British rock band is coming to the WiZink Center on 10 and 11 July 2023 as part of its latest European tour to present the tracks from its latest album, The Car, released in 2022. The last time the group performed in Madrid was in 2018, as part of the Mad Cool Festival line-up. 

The English group, made up of the lead guitarist and vocalist, Alex Turner, the guitarist, Jamie Cook, the drummer, Matt Helders, and the bass player, Nick O’Malley, have succeeded in establishing its characteristic musical style throughout their career, without losing the essence that defines them.

Their first studio album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, released in 2006 revolutionised the United Kingdom, becoming one of the most important debuts of all times, thanks to the large number of sales and good reviews.   Over time, their initial rock sound has been merged with other influences ranging from jazz to R&B, giving rise to interesting albums, such as AM, released in 2013, or their most recent album, The Car. 

This latest album, which is their seventh studio album, was released in October 2022 by Domino Records and was composed by the band’s vocalist, Alex Turner. It includes songs like There’d Better Be a Mirrorball with sounds that are evocative of the 1950s , as well as the song, Sculptures of Anything Goes, in which the group reveals its most experimental side with a darker and mysterious tone.

With the release of The Car, Arctic Monkeys will travel to the leading stages across Europe, whereby their visit to Madrid is the first time that the band will be performing in one of the Spanish city’s halls in ten years.
