The Lord of the Rings in Concert
Information
The epic award-winning fantasy adventure by Peter Jackson, based on the novels by J.R.R. Tolkien, is coming to the WiZink Center on 6, 7 and 8 October 2023. One of the best known trilogies worldwide can be seen in original version with Spanish subtitles, in which the Vallés Symphony Orchestra (OSV) will perform the soundtrack live.
In this screening, the music of the Middle Earth is brought to life with the score by Howard Shore, winner of an Oscar, performing live for the Vallés Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ludwig Wicki and accompanied by the soprano, Kaitlyn Lusk. Whilst the film is being shown on the giant screen, the orchestra will join forces with the Cor Madrigal and Cor Bruckner choirs, as well as the Cor Vivaldi children's choir.
Each day, one of the films that makes up the saga will be screened chronologically, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King, in which spectators can accompany the hobbit Frodo Bolsón on his adventure in possession of the ever powerful One Ring, and the fellowship seeking to take it to Mount Doom to destroy it.
For this project, considered to be one of the most ambitious in the history of film, eight years were needed to bring Lord of the Rings to the big screen. The result was a big artistic hit, winning a total of 17 Oscars, ten BAFTA Awards and four Golden Globes. The three films in the saga are among the biggest box office hits of all times.
