Welcome to Madrid

The city has been selected to host the 2023 European Triathlon Championship. With this sporting event, the most important of the Olympic cycle for the Paris Games in 2024, Madrid is once more hosting an international competition for this highest level discipline.

The Spanish Triathlon Federation and Madrid City Council have been working together since 2002 on the ongoing organisation of international events, boosted by the city’s favourable location in Spain. Good connections, numerous services for sports people and companions, as well as an extensive tourist and gastronomic offer.

The Europe Triathlon (European Triathlon Federation) has announced Madrid as the organiser of the European Triathlon Championship. In addition to the two Elite races for men and women, the city will also host the Para Triathlon  competition and two age group heats in the sprint and standard distances, whereby the finish line for the latter is at the Royal Palace.

More than 2,000 athletes from over 30 countries will participate in the competition and Madrid will be crowned the European capital of the Triathlon.   In this way, Madrid has returned to the highest level of organisation in the triathlon world, since 2013 when the last heat of the World Cup series was held.
