Welcome to Madrid
Located a stone's throw from the Gran Vía, Jota Batela offers its clientèle the best in Spanish food and flavours.
Stepping through the door is like stepping back in time to an old fishing tavern, decorated in wood and with a marine theme. The tavern is split across three floors or levels, creating different nooks and spaces to suit all tastes. The bar takes pride of place, providing a visual journey through Spanish cuisine as it displays some of the produce on offer: seasonal mushrooms, Lodosa peppers, Matallana blood sausage, spicy chorizo from the mountains of León, mojama (salted tuna) from Alicante, seafood...The wine list includes some classics although the owners also like to promote lesser known wineries. Last but not least, you'll see that there's no menu; the waiters reel off a list of the day's specials, all of which have a set price of €6.
