Welcome to Madrid
Madrid will become the world capital of horse racing on 3, 4 and 5 June as the Longines EEF Series, otherwise known as the Nations Cup, takes place at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.
With the slogan “Madrid Rides”, this tournament is promoted by Madrid City Council and the Spanish Royal Horse Federation and will bring together the best national and international riders, who will battle it out over twelve events, six of which will go towards the riders’ overall scores in the Longines Ranking FEI. In addition, the winners will receive close to €215,000 in prize money.
The most important races of the event are the Nations Cup on 4 June and the Grand Prix, which will close the programme on 5 June. The competition is divided into two regional qualifying events. This qualifier is part of the West Group, and the five best national teams from the four sectors (Central, North, South and West) will go through to the semi-finals. From the semi-finals, ten teams will then go through to the grand final in Warsaw (Poland) between 8 and 11 September. The champions of the EEF series will be also promoted to the First Division of the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup for 2023.
Fans who are unable attend in person will be able to enjoy the contest through various television broadcasts, which will be streamed around 150 countries. In addition, to create a festive atmosphere, there will be additional activities and entertainment for all ages and all tastes: shopping areas, a pony park, children's games, food trucks, live music...
