Welcome to Madrid

For the second year in a row, the Beach Volleyball Centre at the Puerta de Hierro Sports Park will be part of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, gathering the most promising beach volleyball players for the men’s and women’s competitions, from 12 to 15 May and from 19 to 22 May, respectively.

Organised by the Madrid Volleyball Federation (FMVB) and the Spanish Royal Volleyball Federation (RFEVB) and held in mid-May, the VW Beach ProTour Madrid will be the first event on the European Beach Volleyball calendar. Unlike last year, there’ll be both women’s men’s competitions, as part of the city’s efforts to become a regular on the international calendar for this sport.

The Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Beach Volleyball World Tour 2022 has been organised to be held at three different levels: Elite 16, Challenge and Future. Madrid will be hosting a round of the Future level.

Upcoming FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Future events include competitions in Rhodes Islands, Greece (19-22 May); Ljubljana, Slovenia (28-31 July); Baden, Austria (25-28 August); and Subic Bay, Philippines (8-11 December), among other locations.

The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour is an intercontinental beach volleyball competition held every year from 1987 between May and December. Organised by FIVB, it comprises several tournaments held in various venues worldwide.
