    Information

The Icelandic band, Sigur Rós, is giving a concert on 29 September at the WiZink Center to celebrate its 25th anniversary on stage and to present its latest album: Odin's raven magic, in Spain.

Created in Reykjavik (Iceland) in 1994 by Jón Þór Birgisson, Georg Hólm and Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson, Sigur Rós (Victory Rose, in Icelandic) is a pop rock and psychedelic rock group whose name comes from Jón’s younger sister, who was born on the same day as it was founded.

In 1997, they launched their debut album: Von, whose recording process was delayed for three years and was not a commercial success.  The following year, the group decided to try again with Von brigði, although recognition came in 1999 with Ágætis byrjun. This album was classified by specialised critics as one of the best albums in the history of European music.

At the beginning of 2010, the group announced that it was taking an indefinite break for its members to focus on their solo careers and spend more time with their families.  In 2012, they made a comeback with Valtari, their sixth LP. This album was followed by Kveikur in 2013, which marked a turning point for the group, assuming a series of stronger and more aggressive sounds.

Now, Sigur Rós is giving a concert in Spain in which it will review some of its major hits like Olsen Olsen, Glósoli, Brennisteinn or Stormur, and present its latest songs.
