Welcome to Madrid

Mikado was the first Japanese restaurant to open not only in Madrid, but in the whole of Spanish mainland. That was back in 1968, eons ago! Many things have changed since then in the world of gastronomy.

When Mikado opened, it didn't serve sushi because the owners thought it was too exotic for Spanish customers. Nowadays, they serve the best traditional Japanese cuisine, without renouncing to certain innovations brought to us by Kikuko Toda, the founder's daughter. The caramelized tofu is excellent. Given the size of the servings and the huge variety, sharing is a good option.
