La Tape
Information
La Tape was established in 1996 under the name of La Tapería, a bar-restaurant with a pioneering gastronomic offer of its time, revamping and modernising the traditional concept of a Madrid tapas bar. Its founders are David Novaes and Miguel Calvete, university friends turned businessmen, who are also the owners of the legendary Sala El Sol and Siroco and the emblematic La Tapería del Prado.
In 2012, La Tapería was renamed La Tape. Its spaces have been refurbished and are clearly differentiated in order to provide a more elaborate offer, fostering pairing with its craft beers and adapting its menus to include gluten-free options. Featuring craft beers, 8 revolving taps were set up in the bar to offer different styles of beer, which was a first for Madrid.
La Tape continues to be a reference in the city’s beer culture, offering gastronomic and beer events, such as Beerfest, as well as pairing menus.
This cosy establishment is divided into two floors: with the dining room on the upper floor and the bar, corner cafeteria and shop on the lower floor.
