Welcome to Madrid
Serafín López opened La Tasquita de Enfrente in the 60's, a tapas and aperitif bar that, over the years and after the death of its founder, closed its doors until Juanjo López, Serafín's son, decided to end his days as an executive in an insurance company and return to his father's dream from decades ago next to Mercedes, another employee of the company.
Currently, La Tasquita de Enfrente is a small, cozy restaurant with eight tables and a long bar in the entrance, decorated with paintings from artist friends, lots of books and a frame containing ties as a metaphor for the life change that Juanjo and Mercedes took on when they opened the restaurant. The menu is very select, offering market products cooked in a modern style that become very original dishes such as, for example, potato salad with fresh urchin or stingray with black butter.
