Welcome to Madrid

This concert which was scheduled for 16 March 2022 has been moved to 26 October 2022

The Scottish indie rock band, who have been creating generational anthems for more than 20 years, have announced a concert tour to perform all their greatest hits. Songs that will be included in the band's first official compilation, Hits to The Head, which is also the name of the tour, and which will bring the band to the WiZink Center on 26 October.

Franz Ferdinand got together in 2001 in Glasgow, UK, and are now a well-known alternative pop rock band fronted by singer Alex Kapranos. All its members were previously in other bands, and Kapranos and drummer Paul Thomson played together before in Yummy Fur. From there, they decided to embark on a personal project, writing their own songs.

The band name comes from the Austro-Hungarian archduke Franz Ferdinand, and shortly after they got together, their single Take Me Out took them to number 3 in the UK charts. This brought them fame that took their self-titled album to number one in the charts, making it one of the most played records in the country. The album also won the Mercury Music Prize 2004 and two Brit Awards 2005, for best British group and best British rock performance.

Their second album, released in 2005, You Could Have It So Much Better, also topped the charts in the UK. After that, in 2008, they brought out Tonight: Franz Ferdinand and in 2013,  Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action. In 2015, Franz Ferdinand joined the American band Sparks to create a supergroup called FFS, which released an LP of the same name. Finally, in 2018, they returned to the studios individually to record Always Ascending, their last record to date.
