Welcome to Madrid

A typical Madrilenian tavern located in La Latina neighbourhood since 1903. It is split between two floors in a building over 200 years old, in what once were the outskirts of the city. Run by three siblings (Juan Carlos, Javier and Belén Cánovas Vacas, the third generation) the menu is short but traditional and offers home-style cooking made with prime ingredients.

This centenarian eatery offers quality Castilian dishes, such as oxtail and callos (tripe), which are the house specialties. But other notable dishes include hen in pepitoria sauce, stuffed quails, baked hake or calamari in black ink sauce, amongst others. The old-style flavours are perpetuated thanks to the use of a charcoal stove. They have a daily menu and an extensive wine list. It is usually frequented by thirty-somethings who come to this genuine tavern decorated with vintage tiles to enjoy the "good home-made food" that can be found here.
