Welcome to Madrid
If nouvelle cuisine doesn't totally convince you, here you will find the most traditional flavours. What they call 'spoon cuisine'. In fact, Casa Perico can be proud of being called 'Casa de la Cuchara' (Spoon house), due to the fact that they offer a different dish everyday and on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays you can choose to have a tasting menu consisting of different spoon dishes. This restaurant was founded in 1942 and is one of the most traditional restaurants in Madrid. 'Lamb chulaponas', 'tortilla castiza' (wrapped with callos), 'chicken andarines', 'papas revolconas' (mashed potatoes with cayenne pepper)... These few examples let us clearly see that their food is closely related to Madrid. Good raw food. Thorough wine list, including one of the most complete collections of wines and cavas in Madrid. All this matched with an attentive service, where the staff will always try to make the customers feel at ease. This explains that this tavern is a meeting point for philosophers, polititians, journalists, businessmen and artists. A baroque but welcoming decorating style, typical of traditional restaurants.
