Welcome to Madrid

Practical Information

Named after the popular magazine of the same name, a mouthpiece for Madrid's 'Movida' or New Wave, the social and cultural movement that brought together all manner of artists in the 1980s, this bar has a permanent exhibition featuring hundreds of objects from that time, such as records, instruments, newspapers, books, clothes and a whole lot more.

Madrid Me Mata is spread over two floors. On the upper floor, there are two large bar areas, plus a more secluded section with sofas and coffee tables, and a recreation of a stage with original musical instruments (the mixing desk used in the tribute concert to Canito in 1980, a bass belonging to Los Nikis, and Ana Curra's keyboard...) All seasoned with 100% 80s music in Spanish.
