Welcome to Madrid
Established in 1956, this is one of the oldest tablaos in Madrid. Over the years it has been visited by legendary actors including Gary Cooper, Rita Hayworth, Charlton Heston, Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman and Richard Gere, former presidents such as George Bush, Richard Nixon, Carlos Menem and J. F. Kennedy, and artists as renowned as Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí.
Some of the world’s top flamenco singers, dancers and guitarists have performed here, including Isabel Pantoja, La Chunga, Antonio Gades, Blanca del Rey and Pastora Imperio. Regarded by many as the country’s flamenco mecca, the Corral currently has its own troupe of dancers, guitar players and singers.
The flamenco club boasts two very different restaurants helmed by chef David García: Restaurante Corral de la Morería, an exclusive venue with just four tables which has received numerous culinary awards including a Michelin star (held since 2018) and the National Gastronomy Award in 2018; and Restaurante Tablao, a large eatery which also houses the stage where the artists come to perform.
