At Matadero Madrid you can hire a bicycle on the banks of Madrid Río. Run by Mobeo smart transport, the service offers traditional Dutch bicycles, prestigious Brompton bicycles, as well as motorised cycles.

It means that any resident of or visitor to Madrid can take the bus or metro to Plaza Legazpi and start or finish their bike ride along Madrid Río from Matadero Madrid. You can also stop for a snack at the Cantina de Cineteca or the Café Teatro de las Naves del Español, as well as joining in the activites at Matadero Madrid, visiting its free exhibitions or going to the cinema or the theatre.

Adapted bike hire from Fundación Lukas

Fundación Lukas, a national non-profit organisation founded in 2009 with the aim of improving quality of life for people with severe multiple disabilities and their families, offers an adapted bike hire service, a unique leisure and sports service in Spain, first launched in March 2020 and available in Madrid to any individual or organisation wishing to try these bikes out.

The service is provided through MOBEO bike hire in El Matadero, serving the whole of Madrid Rio park. It has three DUET electric bikes adapted for people with disabilities, two Co-Pilot bikes, two Fun2Go bikes (which allow users to pedal in parallel) and one Midi bike.
