Welcome to Madrid
Vampire Weekend is back on our stage to present its latest album, Father of the Bride. The band from New York will also perform some of its greatest hits, showing why its artistic proposal is one of the most original on today’s indie scene.
The indie rock band from New York, founded in February 2006, is made up of the vocalist and guitarist, Ezra Koenig, the drummer and percussionist, Chris Tomson, and the bass player and vocalist, Chris Baio. The band’s first album, released in 2008, was Vampire Weekend, which included some of its best known singles, such as Mansard Roof, A-Punk and Oxford Comma, among others. Two years later, they released their second album Contra, which was a huge commercial hit, and also earned a Grammy nomination for the Best Alternative Music Album.
Their third studio album, Modern Vampires of the City, was released in 2013, with which they finally won a Grammy Award for the Best Alternative Music Album 2014. Now, in 2019, they are coming to Madrid as part of the presentation tour of their latest album, Father of the Bride, released last May and which includes several renowned collaborators, such as Mark Ronson, Danielle Haim, Steve Lacy or Rostam Batmanglij.
