Hotel NH Collection Madrid Palacio de Tepa
Information
The NH chain has renovated this old Madrid palace to accommodate a luxury hotel next to Plaza Santa Ana, in the heart of the Literary Quarter.
With a minimalistic but cosy décor that makes the most of natural light, it offers 85 elegant rooms that combine 18th-century Spanish architecture and all the latest mod-cons. Luxury and comfort are guaranteed in this hotel just a stone’s throw from the capital’s top museums.
The remains of a former channel that brought water to Madrid in the 17th century can be seen under a glass floor in the reception area. During the 18th century, the Fonda de San Sebastián was home to the first modern debate in Madrid in the building that now stands on the site of the palace and in which illustrious figures such as Francisco de Goya, José Cadalso, Jovellanos, Felix María Samaniego or Tomás de Iriarte participated.
