Welcome to Madrid

The Teatro Real, under the artistic management and production of  SO-LA-NA, opens the fifth season of Flamenco Real, consolidating the presence of flamenco in its Dance Hall with an extensive and diversified programme. From 2 November 2022 to 28 July 2023, there will be a total of ten shows featuring leading artists from flamenco song and dance, such as Amador Rojas, Yolanda Osuna, Eduardo Guerrero or José Maya.

Following on from the tributes in the previous cycles to the flamenco dancers, Antonio Canales, Cristina Hoyos, Blanca del Rey and Merche Esmeralda, the flamenco singer, Ramón el Portugués and the guitarist, Manolo Sanlúcar, the fifth edition of Flamenco Real is devoted to   El Güito, who turned 80 in 2022. The flamenco dancer from Madrid, Eduardo Serrano Iglesias, El Güito (Madrid, 1942) –Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, 2015- is one of the leading representatives of classic flamenco.  He stood out for his traditional tapping of his feet, excelling in a generation of flamenco dancers emerging from the ranks of Antonio Marín and Pilar López.

The new edition’s programme is devoted to this maestro of flamenco dance and it consists of ten shows with 27 performances by the flamenco dancers who represent different families, schools and currents of an art that is deeply rooted in tradition.

In this way, Farru, Belén López, Amador Rojas, Yolanda Osuna, Marco Flores, María Moreno, Joselito Maya, Lucía Álvarez “la Piñona”, Eduardo Guerrero and Patricia Guerrero head the line-up of each of the shows in the cycle, in which they will be accompanied by renowned instrumentalists and singers.
