Welcome to Madrid
With a name recalling one of Velázquez’s best known paintings, this centrally located hotel in the Hapsburg district combines tradition and innovation.
The traditional aspect can be seen in the building itself, a 19th-century protected building which has retained its structure and some decorative elements of the time, in tone with the buildings in the surrounding area, which contains the Teatro Real opera house, Plaza de Oriente, the Royal Palace, and the Convent of the Descalzas Reales.
Inside the hotel, however, guests will find a contemporary urban style, with minimalist furniture, chill-out background music and the latest technology. The decor, predominantly fuchsia and green on grey, is reminiscent of an early nineteenth century bourgeois home, but with a very contemporary feel.
