Gran Hotel Conde Duque opened its doors in 1953 in a building located in Plaza del Conde Valle de Suchil, which had been declared singular by Madrid's City Council. This peaceful, green area is well connected with all the interesting sites, yet removed from the noise and hustle and bustle of the city.

Gran Hotel Conde Duque has always been particularly concerned about wine culture. It is directly related to two Spanish wineries and makes a continuous effort to provide its customers with an extensive wine selection. Tea is another one of the hotel's specialties. Every afternoon their Tea Room offers a long list of cold and hot teas to choose from, depending on the season. Another curious fact and service provided by the hotel is their library, set up with the books left behind by guests.
