Hotel Miguel Ángel’s classic style is highlighted by the wonderful collection of valuable artworks found inside. Inaugurated in 1977 by Queen Sofía, it boasts a privileged location near Madrid’s financial district and the exclusive Salamanca neighbourhood. One of the first hotels to offer exclusive services to eminent guests, it now boasts a spa that features an indoor pool, jacuzzi, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath and essence shower.

Many are the celebrities who have stayed at the Hotel Miguel Ángel including renowned actors Jeremy Irons and Ewan McGregor, and singers Placido Domingo, Peter Gabriel and Cher. And there will always be a special place in the hotel’s heart for the writer and Literature Nobel Prize Camilo José Cela, who used to stay at the hotel every week.

Another esteemed guest to have stayed at the hotel is former US president Bill Clinton, who spent five nights there in 1997 with his family. The hotel was occupied solely by the US presidential entourage, making it the safest place in the world. A special suite was built for the family, and one of the rooms was turned into a large walk-in closet for Hillary Clinton and her personal stylist. The family were also accompanied by their personal butler, who was assigned to the kitchen and would first taste everything the Clinton family ate.
