Ayre Gran Hotel Colón opened its doors in the 60's, but was renovated in 2010. It is located near the famous El Retiro park, one of the city's major attractions and is an ideal hotel for small conventions, up to 350 people.

This four-star hotel is particularly noteworthy for the stained-glass windows and the frescoes decorating the meeting rooms, lobbies, coffee-shop and restaurants, by artist Manuel Ortega, best known for his stained-glass windows in La Almudena Cathedral. In general, the lighting is modern and exquisite and light is the main feature. As far as dining, guests have a wide range of options to choose from, in any of the three restaurants in the hotel, where they can pick between eating à la carte, having a prix fixé menu or from the buffet. The latter offers the option of combining the classical buffet option for starters and desserts while also choosing from four main entrees.
