Born in North West London, Anne-Marie was always passionate about music. She would listen to artists such as Christina Aguilera, Lauryn Hill and Alanis Morisette, who are important influences on her music now. She started taking dance and acting lessons at a very young age, and she soon began to go up for musical auditions at her school.

Although her career got underway in 2013, it was three years later when Anne-Marie's music was constantly played on the radio and in clubs. Her collaboration with Clean Bandit and Sean Paul on Rockabye was a hit around the world. It sold 3 million copies worldwide, and the video for the song has received over a billion views.
