Colegio Mayor Ximénez de Cisneros
Information
This is the oldest residence hall attached to Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Since its foundation in 1943, many generations of students from all over Spain and also from other countries have lived here, including several current important figures in different professional areas.
The rooms offered in this men’s residence hall are single with breakfast, lunch and dinner included everyday, cleaning and laundry service. The central block of the building is occupied by the common rooms, such as study rooms, computer rooms, dining hall, cafeteria, music rooms, cinema, library, etc.
The residents themselves, together with the management department, define and organize the activities of the residence hall through different “Cultural Societies”. These Societies deal with subjects like Music (with modern and classic music rooms), Photography, Electronics and IT, Reading, Cultural Initiatives, Video, Cinema and Sports. Among these activities they include a “tuna” (musical group made up of university students) and a theatre company. They have an important rugby team which has achieved many successes in both university and federal competitions.
