    Colegio Mayor Isabel de España opened its doors in 1956 and was a women’s residence hall for many years. Since the academic year 2000-2001, men are also admitted. Attached to Universidad Complutense, its purpose is to achieve a comprehensive education of resident students through complementary educational activities like lectures, courses, seminars and the creation of cultural artistic and sports groups. It is located in the University area, in the centre of the student residential area.

    The requirements to apply for a place are the following: you must be a university student in a public or private university in Comunidad de Madrid; you must have an excellent student record. The residence is structured in 10 communities of 16 students each. All rooms are single with breakfast, lunch and dinner included, except Sunday’s breakfast and dinner.

    Colegio Mayor Isabel de España has a limited number of places for post graduates and professors. They offer rooms for students’ relatives and friends who wish to stay there (10 days maximum). Also, during July and September the residence is open for people or groups linked to University, culture or Spanish learning. It s closed at Christmas, Easter and in August.
