Tablao Flamenco Torero
Information
Located halfway between Puerta del Sol and the Literary Quarter, this flamenco house in Calle de la Cruz boasts a vaulted brick cave in its basement, where a flamenco show without artifices can be enjoyed, in which respect for this art, intimacy and the complicity among the artists are its hallmark.
The establishment has a surface area of 500 m2 with a total capacity for 197 people and is divided into two floors. There is a bar-cafeteria with some tables and chairs and a small stage where short flamenco performances, lasting around 15 minutes, can be enjoyed on the ground floor, as well as a hall gor exhibitions and one-off events, with capacity for 50 people. Going down a carpeted staircase leads to the brick basement where there is a room for classes and rehearsals and the main stage, with capacity for 70 spectators seated in a semi-circle, where the Essential Flamenco show takes place. Its artistic director is Juan “el Mistela”, winner of the National Flamenco Critics Award.
Unlike other flamenco houses, Torero does not serve food so as not to interfere with the creative silence required by the artists. As it is a small space, no microphones or loudspeakers are required, so the audience enjoys the sound of the instruments and clear voices.
The hall, which can be fully or partially hired for all types of events, offers all of the anti-Covid measures, including a forced ventilation system.
