Penta Bar

    Information

First opened in 1976 in the popular Malasaña district, this is one of the legendary bars of the 'Movida Madrileña’ cultural movement, immortalised in a verse of the famous song 'La chica de ayer', by the musician Antonio Vega, which is played at closing time at the venue every night. After that, it was frequented by the biggest Spanish pop stars of the time, who also mention in many of their songs.

El Penta was the first venue in Madrid to create the concept of a bar and disco, and was one of the first to have DJ sessions.
