House Museums

Madrid is home to some wonderful museums found in former mansions that take us on a journey to their former owners’ pasts: from the house and studio of the great Spanish painter Joaquín Sorolla to the opulent mansion owned by the 17th Marquis of Cerralbo. For just 12 euros you can purchase the 5 Museums. Another Madrid pass that allows you to visit, over 10 days, the following museums: Decorative Arts, Cerralbo, Romanticism, Sorolla and Lázaro Galdiano. In September 2019 a new museum opened to the public: the official residence of the House of Alba.

Lope de Vega House Museum

In the Literary Quarter, this typical seventeenth-century house is where the playwright and poet lived for the last 25 years of his life.

Lázaro Galdiano Foundation Museum

The collection of renowned publisher José Lázaro Galdiano is exhibited in the Parque Florido mansion, where he lived.

Sorolla Museum

Museum dedicated to Joaquin Sorolla, the painter of Mediterranean light, set in his former family home.

National Museum of Decorative Arts

A total of 30,000 historic decorative objects including furniture, ceramics, glassware, jewellery and fabrics.

Museum of Romanticism

Open every day, this small palace gives us a glimpse of what life would have been like for a middle-class family in the 19th century.

Cerralbo Museum

The former home of the Marquis of Cerralbo, this noble old mansion next to Plaza de España is a wonderful display of 19th-century opulence.

Liria Palace

Known as the "Royal Palace's little brother", the official residence of the House of Alba is now open to the public.
