Colegio Mayor Jaime del Amo

    Information

This university residence hall attached to Universidad Complutense de Madrid is managed by the Claretian Missionaries. The residence hall owes its name to its founder, Jaime del Amo, who wanted to perpetuate the memory of his father, Gregorio del Amo. It was founded in 1967 and officially inaugurated in 1968. The project, by the architect Luis Blanco Soler, was awarded the Architecture National Prize.

The residence attempts to achieve its goals through common life and different cultural, religious and sports activities, in which resident students are directly involved. These activities are organized in two different categories: life-together and studies (science, liberal arts, engineering, architecture) aiming to promote cooperation among all the residents.

All the rooms are single and include laundry service. Some of the facilities offered are library, study rooms, assembly hall, chapel, lounge, TV and video room, gym, swimming pool, sports court, café…
